Facebook now allows Status Update Editing

Facebook will allow users to edit their status updates in a few days. This feature will allow users to click on an option which says “Edit Post” to modify their status updates. This function will only be available on the Web and Android.
 
We’ll see if Facebook can get its users more engaged with this rollout. While Facebook has topped 1.1 billion users as of this year, its user activity rate is declining. According to The Guardian, it lost 4 million U.S. users in March 2013 and had 1.4 million fewer U.K users checked in during the same time. This downward trend is also happening in other place such as Canada, Spain, and Japan where users are basically switching off from the world’s largest social network. Experts believe that the primary factor of this disengagement is boredom, where users are now looking for something completely new. If Facebook can’t boost its user engagement level within a reasonable amount of time, it’s likely that it may follow the footsteps of the previous social network king: Myspace.
