Google Adds New Photography Features to Google+

Google announced yesterday that it’s bringing its Snapseed photo editor features to Google+. This update will allow users to take photos on their phones (the photos can be automatically stored on the Google+ mobile app) and edit them on their desktops. Google hopes the new features will attract more users to the social network as well as get less engaged users back on the platform.

There are a few ways brand marketers can take advantage of this new platform to target consumers more effectively. First, brands can tell stories about their products and services using vivid photos. (Birchbox is doing an excellent job on Instagram.) This will help businesses gain more brand recognition and loyalty as consumers enjoy visual content. Second, brands can showcase community photos on their Google+ pages that humanize their brands.
